Frequently Asked Questions

Who Will Be Giving My Massage?
Your massage will be conducted by a trained professional (see resume) who has received extensive training.
No two massages are exactly alike, you are welcome to chose from Swedish, Sports Massage, Deep tissue, Tragger, (rocking) or a combo of all of them, (my favorite).

Do I Hafta?... Be Completely Undressed?
Most massage techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer for your own comfort.
You will be properly draped during the entire session.

Will The Therapist Be Present When I Disrobe?
There are two ways to do this. The practitioner will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet. (this is not the good way…try lying face down on a waist high table and covering your backside with a sheet, we won’t talk about the disasters I’ve heard about….I am one side of the table your on the other I hold the drape in-between us you lie on the table the drape is placed over you,…no fuss no muss no tragedies.

Will I Be Covered During The Session?
You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable.
Only the area being worked on will be exposed.
.
What Parts of My Body Will Be Massaged?
You and I will discuss the desired outcome of your session.
This will determine which parts of your body require massage.
A typical full body session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders.
You will not be touched on or near your private areas, or breasts (female).

Oil or Lotion? Your Choice! I prefer a lotion with aromatherapy oils added
A light oil or lotion may be used to permit your muscles to be worked on without causing excessive friction to the skin. The lubricants used hydrate the skin and will be readily absorbed. (Again I prefer lotions to oil especially if you’re going to continue your day without showering).

What Is The Benefit Of Massage? Am I Paying You To Hurt Me?
It depends on the techniques used. If we are doing an injury related deep tissue massage you can count on a little pain …but as they say…it hurts so good. Swedish Massage is broad, flowing strokes which will help to calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. This is the fluff of massage and it is very relaxing. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension. I like to combine many different styles of massage into my routine. It is basically what I have found that I have liked when receiving a massage…just trying to pass along the good stuff….but just in you case you should experience any discomfort, let me know and a softer touch will be applied. Massage is most effective when your body is not resisting,. …ENJOY
